My lifelong love of textiles was unleashed as a toddler. I loved the feel and the swish of the fabric as I walked beneath bolt after bolt in the lower level of the JC Penney’s in Williston, N.D.
To this day, color and texture — whether in fabric, furniture or finishes — never fail to induce a swoon.
A less-than-talented seamstress, I thankfully have wonderful workrooms that stitch like angels!
Using my hands is a joyful experience: editing accessories on a mantel, refurbishing an estate sale find, positioning a wall of family photos.
And, after decades as a daily journalist, I haven’t quite kicked the writing habit; in addition to my blog, find my musings on those of Flea Market Style magazine and the Junk Bonanza.
I am also voted by everyone who knows me as most likely to find something to do with whatever it was they just tossed on the curb!
